Job Summary:
The Hockey Pro Shop Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining the operations of the pro shop at the Rochester Ice Center. This role includes assisting customers with their purchases, managing inventory, and ensuring the pro shop is organized and well-stocked.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing hockey equipment, apparel, and accessories.
- Provide knowledgeable advice on hockey gear, equipment fitting, and maintenance.
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pro shop.
- Restock shelves and displays with merchandise.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering new stock as needed.
- Perform equipment maintenance services, such as skate sharpening and minor repairs.
- Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints, escalating to the supervisor if necessary.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of the pro shop before and after shifts.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role preferred.
- Knowledge of hockey equipment and gear preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with skate sharpening equipment and techniques.
- Experience with inventory management.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
- This position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
- The work environment can be busy and noisy, especially during events.
- The Hockey Pro Shop Attendant will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the facility's schedule and events.
