Bartender / Cook

Job Summary:

The Bartender / Cook is responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food to guests at the Rochester Ice Center. This role combines traditional bartending duties with cooking and food preparation, ensuring a high-quality dining and drinking experience for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Take customer orders for food and beverages and accurately input them into the point-of-sale system.
  • Cook and prepare food items according to the menu, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and kitchen areas.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and alcohol service procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels for both bar and kitchen supplies, and communicate needs to the supervisor.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, providing customers with correct change and receipts.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to the supervisor if necessary.
  • Setup and breakdown of the bar and kitchen areas before and after shifts.
  • Restock food and beverage items as needed in coolers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a bartender and/or cook preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Knowledge of alcohol service regulations and responsible beverage service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with bar equipment, such as mixers, blenders, and beer taps.
  • Experience with kitchen equipment, such as grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
  • Certification in food safety and alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS).

Work Environment:

  • This position requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • The work environment can be busy and noisy, especially during events.
  • The Bartender / Cook will be expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the facility's schedule and events.

Pay Rate:

  • $10.50 - $12.00 plus tips based on experience

Snack Bar/Concession Attendant

Job Summary:

The Snack Bar / Concession Stand Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests at the Rochester Ice Center. This role includes preparing and serving food and beverages, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized concession area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take customer orders and process payments using the point-of-sale system.
  • Prepare and serve food items, such as snacks, beverages, and quick meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the snack bar and concession area.
  • Restock inventory and supplies as needed.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints, escalating to the supervisor if necessary.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of the concession stand before and after shifts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all equipment is used safely and properly maintained.
